RASC Speaker Night with Dr. Robert Thirsk

📅 Friday, May 22 | 📍 University of Toronto Mississauga

Canadian astronaut Dr. Robert Thirsk is speaking at UTM about his six-month mission aboard the International Space Station.

Good if you like space, science, or hearing first-hand stories from someone who has spent real time in orbit.

Why save it:
It’s a strong free Friday night plan, but you’ll want to register before the week gets away from you.

CMAOntario Festival & Awards

📅 Friday, May 29 to Sunday, May 31 | 📍 Various Mississauga venues

Ontario’s country music scene is coming to Mississauga for a full weekend of songwriter nights, live music, industry events, and the CMAOntario Awards.

There are $22 ticketed shows, a free two-night live music trail, and separate reserved seating for the awards.

Why save it:
This is one of the bigger music weekends landing in Sauga this spring.

Local Finds

Star Wars x MINISO Pop-Up

📅 Saturday, May 23 to Sunday, June 21 | 📍 Centre Court, Square One

Star Wars and MINISO are bringing a fun new pop-up to Square One.

Expect themed products, plushies, blind boxes, and photo moments in Centre Court.

Good if you have a Star Wars fan in the house, need an easy mall stop, or want a cool browse while you’re already at Square One.

Mississauga Collectors Expo And Mississauga Video Game Show

📅 Sunday, May 24 | 📍 Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale

A one-day collectors show with vintage and modern action figures, Lego, comic books, video games, Pokémon, Funko, and other collectibles.

Early admission starts at 10 a.m., general admission starts after noon, and tickets are available at the door.

21st Annual Eid Bazaar

📅 Friday, May 22 to Tuesday, May 26 | 📍 Palacio Event Centre and Ikon Event Space

A five-day Eid bazaar with more than 180 booths, food stalls, henna artists, gifts, kids’ giveaways, jewelry, toys, and festive shopping.

Friday and Saturday are at Palacio Event Centre. Sunday through Tuesday moves to Ikon Event Space.

Good if you want South Asian fashion, gifts, food, and late-night browsing in one stop.

Mississauga Self-Love & Slow Living Holistic Healing Fair

📅 Saturday, May 30 | 📍 Vic Johnston Community Centre

A wellness-focused fair with local vendors, crystals, natural products, readers, makers, free talks, kids’ face painting, and door prizes.

Entry is by donation, but it’s not required.

Good if you like slower Saturday browsing, wellness finds, or small local businesses in one room.

Blooms & Berries Craft Market

📅 Saturday, June 13 to Sunday, June 14 | 📍 Benares Historic House

A free outdoor craft market in Clarkson with local artists, handmade and upcycled goods, seasonal food, historic samples, crafts, and self-guided tours at Benares Historic House.

Non-perishable food donations will also be accepted for Compass Food Bank.

New & Notable

Food World Plus is coming to the old Highland Farms space

The former Highland Farms site at 50 Matheson Blvd E is getting a new global grocery store.

Food World Plus says it’s opening soon with produce, bakery, meat, seafood, deli, halal meat, gluten-free items, kosher items, international aisles, coffee to go, a floral shop, and a large ready-to-eat food section.

Why it matters:
That Highland Farms space was a familiar grocery stop for a lot of people, so a new large-format food store there is big local retail news.

Pinochio Dessert Cafe is now on Lakeshore

Pinochio Dessert Cafe now has a Mississauga Lakeshore location at 280 Lakeshore Rd W, Unit 104.

The dessert café is known for Dubai chocolate, kunafa cups, croffles, and other favourite sweets.

Why it matters:
Mississauga’s dessert scene keeps getting better day by day, and this gives the Lakeshore strip another sweet stop.

Lenny’s Café is opening this summer

A new Italian-style café called Lenny’s Café is planned for 3660 Hurontario St, Suite 101.

The website says it’s opening in July 2026, with simple Italian food, coffee, focaccia, wine, local beer, cocktails to take home, and a small bottle shop.

Why it matters:
This gives the Hurontario corridor another casual café and lunch spot to watch before summer.

Deals & Freebies

Carassauga Advance Passport

📅 Online sales end Thursday, May 21 at 9 a.m. | 📍 Multiple Mississauga locations

Carassauga passports are $10 online before the deadline, compared with $15 at the door.

The passport gives access to all pavilions and events during the festival weekend. Kids 12 and under are free.

Good if:
You already know you’re going to Carassauga and want to save a few dollars before the weekend.

Free Public Art Workshops

📅 Sunday, May 24 and Wednesday, May 27 | 📍 Visual Arts Mississauga

Artist Dennis Lin is leading free hands-on workshops tied to a new public art installation coming to South Common Community Centre and Library.

You’ll make a small hanging art piece using wire and small objects that mean something to you.

Good if:
You want a free creative workshop with a direct connection to a future Mississauga public art piece.

The Rec Room Wing ’N Win

📅 Ongoing | 📍 The Rec Room Square One

The Rec Room Square One is promoting two weekly offers: all-you-can-eat wings for $28 from Monday to Wednesday, and all-you-can-beat games for $40 from Thursday to Sunday.

2026 Vesak Celebration

A free public Vesak celebration with a parade around City Hall, an opening ceremony, chanting, cultural performances, food tasting, and a Buddhism 101 booth.

Morphology 2026: A Photographic Exhibition

A free photo exhibition about water, landscapes, and the changing Mississauga shoreline.

Local photo artists documented the evolution of a waterfront conservation area over several years.

Peel-Halton MS Walk Volunteers

📅 Sunday, May 31 | 📍 Churchill Meadows Community Centre

MS Canada is looking for volunteers for the 2026 Peel-Halton MS Walk.

Volunteer roles include event setup, check-in, checkpoint support, finish-line help, route cheering, and event wrap-up.
