World Cup Watch Parties Are Coming To Celebration Square

Mississauga’s FIFA World Cup 2026 screenings start Thursday, June 11 at Celebration Square. The City plans to show select matches on the big screens, including Canada’s group-stage games.

Why it matters:

If you’re planning around Canada games, the first local public screening is Canada vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday, June 12 at 3 p.m.

Hazel McCallion Central Library Is Fully Back

Hazel McCallion Central Library has reopened all five floors after its renovation, including the Glass Pavilion, Breezeway, Noel Ryan Auditorium, study areas, program rooms, and community spaces.

Central Library is one of Mississauga’s most useful public spaces, and the full reopening gives City Centre a major indoor hub again.

Mississauga Is Marking National Indigenous History Month

The City has posted June programming for National Indigenous History Month, including recommended reads, an online author talk with Métis author Tara Gereaux, and a National Indigenous Peoples Day event later this month at Celebration Square.

Hazel McCallion Walk For Health

The fifth annual Hazel McCallion Walk for Health returns this Sunday in support of Trillium Health Partners. Participants can choose a 2 km or 5 km waterfront route, with funds supporting major hospital redevelopment projects.
