The Mississauga Halal Food Festival is back at Celebration Square for its 13th year, with halal food vendors, dessert vendors, international cuisines, family entertainment, kids’ activities, cultural programming, and live performances.
This is the easy drop-in plan if you want dinner, dessert, and entertainment in one central spot. Friday works well for an after-work food stop. Saturday gives you the fuller festival day.
Admission is free.
Canadian Halal Exhibition
📅 Friday, June 12 to Sunday, June 14 | 📍 Paramount Fine Foods Centre
The Canadian Halal Exhibition is also running this weekend, with outdoor halal food vendors, amusement rides, more than 40 marketplace vendors, a children’s area, and stage programming through the weekend.
This is the better fit if you want food plus shopping, rides, and a family-friendly festival setup. Admission is free, but registration is recommended.
Blooms & Berries Craft Market
📅 Saturday, June 13 to Sunday, June 14 | 📍 Benares Historic House
Blooms & Berries brings a free outdoor craft market to Benares Historic House in Clarkson.
Expect local makers, handmade goods, seasonal food, historic food samples, and self-guided tours of the historic home. It’s also tied to Clarkson Village’s old strawberry history, which gives it a more local feel than a standard vendor market.
The event runs rain or shine, and non-perishable food donations will be collected for Compass Food Bank.

Good if you’ve got collectors, kids, or pop-culture enthusiasts in the house. Kids 12 and under get in free with a paying adult, and parking is free.
Race Against Racism
📅 Saturday, June 13 | 📍 Mississauga Valley Community Centre Park
Peel Regional Police’s Race Against Racism marks its 25th year with a 5K run, walk, or stroll for all ages and fitness levels.
Proceeds support youth scholarships, and the morning includes music and free food. It’s a good option if you want a community event that gets you moving without needing to be a serious runner.
Buddha’s Light Vegetarian Food Fair
📅 Sunday, June 14 | 📍 Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto
Fo Guang Shan Temple is hosting its annual vegetarian food fair with food from around the world, performances, a lucky draw, and temple tours.
There’s also an interfaith prayer gathering earlier in the day. Entry is free, and proceeds from the food fair support educational and charitable programs.
Easy Plan This Week
Keep this one simple: if the rain holds off, do a low-key loop around Lake Aquitaine Park in Meadowvale, then head to Taps Public House at Meadowvale Town Centre for an easy meal.
The park gives you water views without making the outing feel like a big production. Taps is the simple add-on for burgers, tacos, bowls, wings, or a drink if you’re turning it into a casual night out.
This Week’s Best Eats
This Week’s Food Feature
Huevos Gourmet

Inside Huevos Gourmet's stunning new look
Huevos Gourmet has never looked better.
The beloved Port Credit brunch spot just reimagined its space, and the room is genuinely stunning. Warm golden walls, lush greenery in every corner, original artwork and framed portraits, and a neon sign that says it best: "big brunch energy."
New look, same soul. Plus a couple of new reasons to show up hungry.
First, the Churro Pancakes. Golden, fluffy and cinnamon-kissed, stacked under homemade whipped cream, caramelized plantains and a dulce de leche drizzle. It's the dessert-for-breakfast you'll be thinking about days later. One bite and you're hooked.
Then the new Huevos breakfast tacos, soft warm tortillas folded around big Mexican brunch flavour, the kind of first bite that has everyone reaching for seconds.
And don't skip the juice. Bright, tropical, and squeezed to order from fresh oranges and golden pineapples, it's worth ordering every single time.
Reserve your table before the weekend fills up.
Masrawy Egyptian Kitchen
📍 2275 Britannia Rd W
Masrawy is a good one if you want Egyptian food that goes past the basics.
Order koshari, a comfort bowl of rice, lentils, pasta, chickpeas, and tomato sauce, or go bigger with hawawshi, lamb shank, kofta, molokheya, or macarona béchamel.
It’s best for a family dinner or a table that wants to share a few plates. For dessert, look at the om ali, an Egyptian bread pudding made with pastry, milk, nuts, and raisins.
Cuchulainn’s Irish Pub
📍 158 Queen St S
Cuchulainn’s is the Streetsville pub choice when you want a burger, fish and chips, wings, or a pint without making dinner complicated.
It’s family-owned, and the menu changes with the season, with house-made breads and desserts. It’s a good fit after a walk through the village or when you want a casual meal with friends.
What’s New in Sauga
Watch the World Play
Mississauga’s free FIFA World Cup screenings start today at Celebration Square.
The first day has Mexico vs. South Africa at 3 p.m. and South Korea vs. Czechia at 10 p.m. Canada’s first local screening is Friday at 3 p.m. against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The City notes that not every match will be shown, and schedules can change, so check before heading over.
Move More This June
Mississauga is taking part in the ParticipACTION Community Challenge this month, which asks residents, schools, groups, and workplaces to log active minutes.
Walks, bike rides, swims, workouts, and fitness classes all count. The City says Mississauga was a finalist last year, so this is a simple way to help the city climb the national leaderboard while getting outside a bit more.
Canada’s Biggest Hospital Build
One of the biggest hospital projects in Canadian history is taking shape right here in Mississauga.
The new Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital will replace the current hospital at Hurontario and Queensway. Plans call for a 22-storey, 2.8-million-square-foot building with more than 950 beds, all-private patient rooms, a larger emergency department, expanded surgery space, and new diagnostic, pharmacy, and lab facilities.
The project also includes the Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children, which is being billed as Ontario’s first hospital focused on women’s and children’s care. Construction is underway, with completion currently targeted for 2033.
